Coverage · Covering the US

Private coverage, shaped to the life you actually have.

Every plan below is compared across carriers, checked against your doctors, and explained in plain English before you decide anything.

01

Individual & family plans

Private major medical coverage built around your household, your doctors, and your budget, with options that go well beyond what a single marketplace listing shows.

Best for: Families, couples, and individuals who want broader networks or more predictable costs than their current plan.

  • Nationwide PPO network options so you choose your own doctors and specialists
  • No primary care referrals required on most PPO plans
  • Lower-deductible and low-copay structures for those who qualify
  • In-network preventive care and routine checkups covered
  • Year-round enrollment on many plans
02

Self-employed & 1099

Coverage for people who do not have an HR department. Freelancers, contractors, consultants, and owner-operators get a plan that fits their income and their schedule.

Best for: 1099 contractors, freelancers, consultants, realtors, tradespeople, and solo business owners.

  • Rates based on your health profile rather than a one-size community rate, where you qualify
  • Premiums may be tax-deductible for the self-employed (confirm with your tax professional)
  • Coverage that travels with you across state lines
  • Help timing coverage around contracts and income changes
03

Small business & group

Benefit solutions for owners who want to take care of a team without taking on corporate-level premiums or administration.

Best for: Owners with 2 to 50 employees, growing teams, and businesses that have never offered benefits before.

  • Flexible employer contribution models
  • Group and individual-choice structures for W-2 and 1099 teams
  • Tax-advantaged ways to offer health benefits
  • A single point of contact for onboarding and ongoing questions
04

Supplemental protection

Policies that pay cash directly to you when something serious happens, so a deductible, lost income, or travel for treatment does not become a financial crisis.

Best for: Anyone with a higher deductible, a physical job, or dependents who rely on their income.

  • Accident and injury indemnity benefits
  • Critical illness lump-sum benefits
  • Hospital confinement and indemnity riders
  • Dental and vision add-ons
05

Life transitions

Coverage for the gaps: between jobs, retiring before Medicare, leaving an employer plan, aging off a parent's plan, or moving across the country.

Best for: People in the middle of a change who need the right answer quickly.

  • Honest comparison of COBRA, Marketplace special enrollment, and private options
  • Bridge coverage for short gaps when appropriate
  • Early-retirement planning for the years before Medicare eligibility
  • A clear timeline so you are never uninsured by accident
06

Marketplace guidance

If an ACA Marketplace plan with a subsidy is genuinely your best fit, I will tell you so and help you understand it. Independence means I am not tied to one answer.

Best for: Households whose income qualifies for meaningful premium assistance.

  • Plain-English explanation of metal tiers, subsidies, and networks
  • Side-by-side comparison with private alternatives
  • Help avoiding common enrollment and income-estimate mistakes

Know your options

There are three ways to get covered. Most people only hear about two.

Marketplace, employer, or private. Each one is right for someone. My job is to show you which one is right for you, with the trade-offs out in the open.

Path 1

Marketplace (ACA)

Good fit for
Lower incomes that qualify for subsidies; pre-existing conditions that affect private underwriting.
Trade-offs
Pricing by age and ZIP code only. Networks are often local HMOs. Enrollment limited to Open Enrollment or a qualifying event.

Path 2

Employer plan

Good fit for
Anyone whose employer pays a large share of the premium.
Trade-offs
Little or no choice of plan or network. Coverage ends when the job does. COBRA continuation means paying the full premium.

Where I add the most value

Private plan

Good fit for
Reasonably healthy individuals, families, and the self-employed who want broader networks or lower deductibles.
Trade-offs
Pricing depends on health profile, so not everyone qualifies for the best rates. Year-round enrollment. Nationwide PPO options common.

Plan availability, pricing, and benefits vary by state and carrier and are subject to underwriting and eligibility. References to deductibles, networks, and tax treatment are general and informational; confirm specifics with the plan documents and your tax professional.

How it works

Four steps. No jargon. No pressure.

  1. 01

    Tell me about you

A short request form or a quick call. Who needs coverage, where you live, what matters most.

  2. 02

    I compare and verify

Side-by-side options across carriers, with your doctors, prescriptions, and budget checked against each one.

  3. 03

    You choose, I enroll you

Plain-English trade-offs, no pressure. Once you decide, I handle the application and follow it through approval.

  4. 04

    I stay in your corner

Benefit questions, claims navigation, and annual reviews. You keep one point of contact for the life of your policy.

What working with me looks like

Fewer surprises. More freedom. One phone number.

Nationwide PPO options

Networks that let you choose your own doctors and specialists, with coverage that travels anywhere in the U.S.

Your doctors, verified first

Before you apply for anything, I confirm your preferred doctors and hospitals are in network.

Year-round enrollment

Many private plans accept applications any time of year. You do not have to wait for November.

Independent advice

I compare carriers side by side and tell you plainly which plan fits, even if the answer is a Marketplace plan.

A direct line, not a queue

When you call, you get me. Questions, claims help, and coverage reviews as your life changes.

No cost to you

Carriers compensate brokers. Your premium is the same whether you enroll with me or on your own.

Why coverage design matters

Being insured and being protected are not the same thing.

Medical bills remain one of the leading contributors to personal bankruptcy in the United States, and many of those households had insurance. A high deductible, a narrow network, or an out-of-network surgeon can turn one bad year into a decade of debt.

The fix is not simply more insurance. It is the right structure: a network that includes your doctors, a deductible you could actually pay, and supplemental protection where your exposure is highest. That is the work I do before you ever sign anything.

FAQ

Straight answers to the questions people actually ask.

If yours is not here, send it through the request form. You will hear back from me, not a script.

What does it cost to work with you?

Nothing. Brokers are compensated by the insurance carriers, and your premium is the same whether you enroll through me or directly. You get a licensed advocate who compares plans across carriers and stays with you after enrollment, at no added cost.

What is private health insurance, and how is it different from the Marketplace?

Private plans are purchased directly from an insurance carrier rather than through healthcare.gov or a state exchange. Marketplace plans are priced by age and location and can include income-based subsidies. Many private plans price by your health profile, so people in reasonably good health can often access broader networks or lower deductibles for a similar or lower monthly premium. Which path is better depends on your income, health, and the doctors you want to keep. I will tell you honestly which one fits.

Can I keep my doctors?

Many private plans use nationwide PPO networks, which usually means you can see specialists without a referral and keep in-network coverage while traveling anywhere in the U.S. Before you apply for anything, I look up your preferred doctors and hospitals and confirm they are in network.

I'm self-employed. What should I know?

You have more options than most people realize, and the right plan can also be a tax consideration. Self-employed individuals may be able to deduct health premiums; confirm specifics with your tax professional. I work with 1099 contractors, freelancers, consultants, and small business owners every week.

Can I enroll outside of Open Enrollment?

Often, yes. Many private plans accept applications year-round, so a job change, a move, or simply deciding you want better coverage does not have to wait for November. Marketplace plans generally require a qualifying life event outside Open Enrollment.

What is the difference between a PPO and an HMO?

A PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) lets you see any in-network doctor or specialist without a referral and typically has a large, often nationwide, network. An HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) requires a primary care physician and referrals, and generally covers only local in-network care except in emergencies. HMOs tend to cost less per month; PPOs offer more freedom.

What if I have a problem with my plan after I enroll?

You contact me. I remain your direct point of contact for benefit questions, help navigating claims, and coverage reviews as your life changes. You will not be handed off to a call center.

Do you offer dental, vision, or supplemental coverage?

Yes. Dental and vision can be added to most plans, and supplemental policies such as accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity pay cash benefits directly to you to cover deductibles, lost income, or travel during a major medical event.

I'm between jobs. Is COBRA my only option?

No. COBRA lets you keep your employer plan but you pay the full premium, which is often far more than a comparable individual plan. Depending on your situation, a private plan, a short-term bridge plan, or a Marketplace plan with a special enrollment period may cost significantly less. I will compare all three with you.

Which states do you cover?

The Kelly Health Group is covering the US. Plan availability varies by state and carrier, and I will confirm what is available where you live before we compare anything.

How do I get started?

Use the request form on this site or book a call. Tell me a little about who needs coverage and your situation, and I will come back with a short list of options that fit, with the trade-offs explained in plain English.

Is my information safe?

Yes. Your details are used only to prepare your coverage options and are never sold or shared for marketing. Text messaging opt-in data is never shared with third parties. See the privacy policy for specifics.
